Technique and Creativity in the Art of Threading

“Walid-regragui”

In my work, I choose wooden panels as the foundation for my creative expression. I begin by carefully placing a series of nails — sometimes up to 300 or more — to form a precise framework. This structure becomes the base for my artistic piece, where I connect the nails using colorful threads.

I start with black and white threads to define the outlines and finer details. Then, I gradually introduce colors to express depth, emotion, and intricacy.

This artistic process demands precision and patience. As I weave the threads between the nails, a complex and beautiful vision emerges before me — one that is reflected in every detail. I must understand the curves, the horizontal and vertical lines, to achieve balance and harmony in the piece.

This is not a fast process; it requires time and dedication. Each artwork can take me several months to complete, but this devotion is ultimately visible in every aspect of the final creation.

Spirituality plays a major role in my work. I find myself immersed in a meditative experience — one that merges creativity with a deep sense of inner peace.

Through this unique technique, I blend technical skill with artistic imagination. The nails and threads become my tools for bringing a magical, expressive touch to life. For this reason, I consider myself fortunate to be able to express my vision and creativity in such a beautiful and distinctive way.

Authenticity and Creativity in Artistic Expression
In the world of art, authenticity holds a special value, as it allows the artist to embody the essence of culture and heritage through creative expression.
Through my paintings, I realized I could creatively use this traditional element to communicate my message.
